    صدر عن المكتب الإعلامي لدولة رئيس مجلس النواب الأستاذ نبيه بري ما يلي:
    لما كان القصد لاقتراح قانون العفو، وتخفيض بعض العقوبات بشكل إستثنائي. يرمي لإعادة الاعتبار لمبدأ العدالة القانونية وضمانة حرية الأفراد، سيما أن الوضع في السجون إتسم بتأخير مزمن في إصدار الأحكام الجزائية، وبالرغم من الجهود التي قامت بها دوائر المجلس النيابي واللجان المشتركة للتوصل إلى توافق وطني يكون علامة جمع في وطن أحوج ما يكون به للتضامن والتوافق، غير أن الذي جرى وشوهد في أكثر من منطقة مترافق مع تحريض وياللأسف طائفي ومذهبي تقرر تأجيل جلسة الغد على موعد آخر شعاره التوافق .
